  • Each of these names are chosen and assembled from an inventory of names which provide a sense of “home”, political power, unique cultural identity, or a grandeur which only one of an empires core would can inhabit.

  • Machines of production churn as drones and freighters soar across the sky. Beside the core worlds, but separated by design, the industry planet is a cacophony of shipyards, factories, and raw materials being forged into the goods that run the empire.
  • These names bring reference of artisan craft, heavy production, or the sounds of hammers falling upon anvils. Whether an asteroid outpost, a drifting star installation, or a world ravaged for its natural resources, you’re bound to get more steel out of these.
• WAR WORLD
  • Battle-hardened planets of military strength. These can be worlds at the front of a war, those marked by the jurisdiction of armies or armadas, or the locations of critical fortifications, military academies, or proving grounds.
  • Each world is a strategic location given a historical reference, a coded designation, or a shorthand nickname become manifest, evoking the nature of such a world to be a key resource or site of battle in the fight for the empire.
• BORDER WORLD
  • Worlds on the outskirts of civilization, either as the head of a frontier, within neutral territory between empires, or previous fronts of war which have since gone quiet or abandoned. In other cases, long journeys of colonizer vessels escaping the tyranny of a greater imperial force may find themselves giving their new homes name a sound of freedom and individualism.
  • The people of these planets are often a mixture of rugged rimworld dwellers, old empire remnants, brigands, brave adventurers, and hives of scum and villainy. A perfect location for a space fantasy western, a star pirate cove, or a separatist movement.
