7 New TTRPG Experiences from GameHole Con 2025

In a constantly evolving TTRPG industry, game conventions provide game publishers the opportunity to showcase their latest games and their upcoming projects to an enthusiastic and intrepid community of players and game masters.

This month, I reached out to a number of publishers at the vendor hall of Game Hole Con 2025 in order to get the details on what projects each are most excited about. Whether you are a player of Dungeons and Dragons, Daggerheart, Mork Borg, Fabula Ultima, or  countless indie RPGs, there’s something here for you!

Splattered Ink Games

TTRPG publishing company by Darryl T Jones (son in photo), specializing in RPGS, board games, one shots, acrylic monster tokens, and other accessories.

Need Games!

Known worldwide for its Fabula Ultima TTJRPG, Need Games is a publisher based out of Milan, Italy, with its start in localizing RPG games into Italian. Now, it seeks to develop original TTRPG products.

  • Fabula Ultima Celebration Edition + Bestiary Vol 1. was just funded on Kickstarter for over $1.6 million, and is accepting late backers!
  • Also, stay tuned. In 2026, Need Games is going full speed ahead on marketing, community building, and club organizing for Fabula Ultima, with plan to unravel demo sessions with their own private room at GenCon, amongst other live play endeavors! …  Now is a great time to get into the game!

With their first foray at Madison, Wisconsin, Need Games may be a smaller company, but it’s one with big motion!

Bright Bard Games

A Minneapolis-based TTRPG publishing company led by art-and-editor power duo: Bri De Danann (art), Jon Boyle (writer/editor) delivering weird and whimsical indie TTRPGs since 2022.  Here’s what their showcasing this year:

  • Axolotl with a Gun, an arcade-style one-shot RPG about adorable amphibians with comically oversized weapons and cute hobbies fighting evil robots bent on destroying their habitat. … A revised edition is in the works! Also… check out my past review of this game here!
  • Trash to Treasure, a magical girl goblin game thats a mix of Sailor Moon and Captain Planet, and built like a season of an anime with multiple arcs. Play one of the five magical girls saving the world from pollution, whether air, land, plastic, cultural, or that of the heart!

Storytellers Forge

Creator-focused studio specializing in immersive gaming and compelling full-length campaign experiences co-designed with partners vision in mind.

Wet Ink Games is an art-forward publisher, showcasing and promoting artists, writers, creators, and their works, with Brandon Aten and Matthew Orr as business and creative directors. Tons of great games to highlight:

  • Never Going Home is an 2020 ENNIE nominated game for Best Interior Art depicting a setting filled with eldrich horror in the trenches of WW1.
  • Garbage and Glory is a recently-Kickstarted game letting you playas raccoons scavenging weapons and items from the trash to gain power. Late pledges available!
  • Heckin Good Doggos is a family-friendly game of dogs doing dog stuff! Find treats, bark at squirrels, banish ghosts from the neighborhood. Good normal dog fun! …
